Pastor’s Message
Dear Friend,
I greet you in the name of the Lord Jesus on behalf of the people of the Catholic Community of St. Charles
Borromeo. I bring you a double welcome. First, welcome to these pages. It is with joy that we are able to
launch our new website. Our prayer is that the outreach of these pages will inform and inspire you.
We intend to update frequently and regularly so that you will have the latest information about the many
ministries and activities here at St. Charles. To the parish family, I pray that these pages will be a rich
source of information for you. I pray that these pages will strengthen the bond of fellowship and love
already so present in our community.
The second welcome is to the community of St. Charles Borromeo itself. If you are looking for a faithful
church, dedicated to the Lord Jesus in the spirit and the teaching of Vatican II, we’re your church. We are a
welcoming parish, where people really find a home - a place to belong. We make every effort to live up to our
Parish Mission Statement: Together, we share faith in Jesus, live the Gospel and care for others.
In an age of isolation, even anonymity, we all need to be accepted; we all need to belong.
If you are looking for a church home, a place where you can “fit in,” a place where we celebrate Eucharist,
proclaim and study the Holy Scriptures and live out the Gospel, St. Charles Borromeo may be just such a home.
Remember the dialog in John’s Gospel (1:38-39) where Jesus asks, “What do you want?” The disciples respond,
“Rabbi, where are you staying?” The Lord Jesus then says, “Come, and you will see.” I echo those words of
invitation to you who are searching: Come, and you will see!
Yours in the peace of Christ,
Fr. Bob Mendonça
